The Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development, Communications and the Arts is dedicated to advancing national data solutions in freight and transport. As part of their National Freight Data Hub, they seek a dynamic data analyst who will contribute to both technical and strategic objectives, working within a motivated team to shape transportation policy and data management initiatives.

In this role you can expect to have the responsibilities:

  • Engage and collaborate with stakeholders to deliver projects.
  • Utilize R and SQL for data cleaning, compilation, and modeling.
  • Develop and update data products, preparing statistics and visualizations using tools like Azure Databricks, RStudio, ArcGIS, and PowerBI.
  • Improve national datasets by identifying weaknesses and opportunities.
  • Handle ad hoc data and information requests.
  • Support the team through quality assurance and peer review.
  • Possibly mentor or supervise junior staff.
