The Department of Veterans Affairs' Office of Inspector General is looking for a Data Analyst within the Data and Insights Branch to evolve data production and analytics processes. The branch aims to underpin evidence-based outcomes that serve veterans and their families, by fostering a culture driven by data insights.
In this role you can expect to have the responsibilities:
- Evaluate and profile data sources to align with new requirements and determine ETL rules.
- Design and document ETL and mapping rules.
- Write and optimise SQL queries for data retrieval.
- Collaborate with Data Modellers to create reusable data models.
- Plan, document, and execute testing of data products and ETL processes.
- Develop strategies for resolving complex data challenges.
- Collaborate on improving processes and setting standards for EDW development.
- Implement privacy and security controls with Governance and Business teams.
- Communicate specialised content and complex information clearly to stakeholders.

This role requires you to have:
- Python
- SQL

- Data Modelling
You would benefit from having:
- Third normal form and star schemas modeling techniques
- Experience with Amazon Web Services
- Experience with Microsoft Azure Data Factory
- Knowledge of Microsoft Purview Data Governance
- Proficiency with Atlassian Cloud, Jira, and Confluence
- GitLab proficiency
