As a Data Engineer at Iress, you will be responsible for designing and implementing data products and the underlying technology infrastructure. Collaborate with Product Managers, Software Engineers, and other team members to create data solutions that meet the needs of our clients.

In this role you can expect to have the responsibilities:

• Design and implement data pipelines to transform and enrich trading and market data into valuable assets
• Create data schemas to enable new products and integrations
• Validate solutions through rapid prototyping and user feedback
• Scale data products and integrate them into larger technology ecosystems
• Ensure compliance with data governance and privacy requirements
• Build and monitor validation tools to strengthen security and governance policies
• Establish and maintain de-identification methodologies to use data compliantly
• Automate data handling operations for the data lifecycle
• Stay updated on best practice data engineering standards
• Present findings, methodologies, and recommendations to technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Collaborate as part of a team to understand client pain points and continuously improve products

This role requires you to have:

• Multi-year industry experience developing client-facing data products in a serverless data platform
• Proven track record designing and building data lakes and lakehouses
• Experience with highly available, distributed systems for large data sets
• Expertise in data warehousing architecture using cloud technologies
• Familiarity with common databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, and AWS DynamoDB
• Experience consuming data from streaming platforms like Apache Kafka
• Multi-year industry experience with Python and SQL
• Ability to work in co-located or remote team structures
• Experience mentoring less-experienced engineers and collaborating with experienced technologists
• Knowledge of software quality assurance through the test pyramid
• Growth mindset and eagerness to tackle challenges
• Experience working with product management in solution design
• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field or 3+ years industry experience
