Sydney Water's Customer Metering Operations Team aims to enhance capabilities in preparation for a widespread implementation of smart water meters. The team focuses on harnessing new technologies and data to optimize services. This role involves advancing analytic capabilities to improve operational efficiency, revenue, and water conservation efforts through smart metering and related data sets.

In this role you can expect to have the responsibilities:

• Lead data analytics to support business cases for smart metering growth.
• Automate insight and report generation processes where feasible.
• Develop analytics tools for operational improvements and water management.
• Create processes for analytics operation and stakeholder reporting.
• Provide analytics services for Customer Billing Accounts and Metering.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to identify requirements and develop analytic solutions.
• Initiate projects, analyze problems, define scope, and document processes.

This role requires you to have:

• Relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent experience.
• Experience in data science, statistical modeling, predictive modeling, or customer analytics.
• Proficiency in SQL for data extraction from relational databases.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Skill in statistical programming languages like R or Python.
