The Molecular Biology team seeks an enthusiastic Molecular Data Analyst to join their Ghent-based R&D Innovation Center, where they develop cutting-edge solutions for sustainable agriculture.
In this role you can expect to have the responsibilities:
- Design and analyze molecular experiments within the department.
- Develop data analysis tools and workflows using Python and R.
- Collaborate with digital specialists across BASF's Trait Research department.
- Support project follow-ups as a point of contact for Digital Teams.
- Provide expertise in complex experiment design and analysis.
- Shape and optimize current and future data workflows.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team collaboration within Trait Research.
- Coach the team on digital maturity and data savviness.

This role requires you to have:
- Master's degree in data science, bioinformatics, or computational biology (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum 4 years of experience as a molecular data analyst.
- Expertise in Python scripting and R programming.
- Experience with data visualization and workflow management systems.
- Familiarity with plant biotech and molecular biology.
- Strong skills in data management, data mining, and integration.
- Proficiency in FAIR data management principles and APIs.
You would benefit from having:
- Experience with workflow management systems like SnakeMake or Nextflow.
