The Technical Data Analyst will play a vital role in optimizing data workflows and reducing data backlog in the Oil Sands and Exploration sectors based in Calgary, Alberta.
In this role you can expect to have the responsibilities:
- Provide data support and management for projects affecting forecasting, budgeting, strategic planning, reserves, and project reviews.
- Manage diverse datasets in geoscience, geospatial, petrophysics, and well measurement data.
- Improve project delivery and systems by enforcing data engineering standards.
- Design and implement efficient data strategies with project teams.
- Resolve historical data discrepancies.
- Enhance data systems and workflows.
- Ensure integration between Engineering, Geoscience, and IT systems.
- Align corporate and divisional data management processes.
- Manage data for over 150 observation wells, ensuring compliance and effective surveillance.
- Alleviate data backlog for various well data, support drilling programs, and maintain exploration databases.
- Develop and maintain technical reports and dashboards using Power BI.

This role requires you to have:
- Post-secondary education in Geoscience, GIS, Engineering, Technology or related field
- 2-6 years of experience in data management and optimization in oil and gas
- Experience with O&G data formats and petrotechnical data management
You would benefit from having:
- Experience with cross-functional teams
- Knowledge of SAGD business model
- Proficiency in geoscience, geophysics, petrophysics, reservoir engineering
- Experience with geospatial data analysis, database management, data integration, data engineering, and data science
- Familiarity with Power BI, Petrel, Geolog, ArcGIS, Excel, R, Python, SQL
