The City of Red Deer offers a permanent opportunity for a Data Analyst to join their IT team. This role involves evaluating and managing database resources and services, ensuring data quality, and supporting core IT processes such as database management, business intelligence, and data quality.

In this role you can expect to have the responsibilities:

• Evaluate, review, and manage database resources and services
• Ensure high levels of data quality
• Develop, implement, and oversee database policies and procedures
• Design, install, monitor, maintain, and performance-tune production databases
• Gather business requirements and develop BI software and solutions
• Integrate databases and data warehouses with BI data models
• Develop reports, graphs, and dashboards
• Ensure high levels of BI availability through support and testing
• Provide guidance and support in organizational data analysis best practices

This role requires you to have:

• College diploma or university degree in computer science or related field
• 3 years of experience in a comparable position
• Proficiency in querying in Transact-SQL
• Experience in server-client computing and relational database environments
• Skills in data management and data processing flowcharting
• Expertise in designing, building, installing, configuring, and supporting database servers
• Proficiency in troubleshooting and tuning databases
• Database analysis and administration
• Experience with MS SQL platform, including SSMS, SSIS, and SSRS
• Business requirements analysis, database design, and reporting
• Experience with SQL Server BI platform, including SSAS and Power BI

Use of a personal vehicle may be required for service calls and offsite meetings. The position may require availability for call-out or standby outside regular hours. Hybrid remote work may be considered.
