Data and Analytics Analyst

The City of Richmond Hill is seeking a passionate Data and Analytics Analyst to enhance their data management strategies. This role exists to develop data solutions and foster data literacy across various divisions, contributing to strategic and informed decision-making processes.

In this role you can expect to have the responsibilities:

• Enhance Data Governance as part of the IT Work Plan for 2025.
• Develop a Data Quality framework and metrics, establishing policies and standards for data management.
• Create and maintain a Data Catalog and business glossary.
• Lead data quality assessments, data modeling, and integration best practices.
• Develop databases, data collection systems, and analytics strategies to increase efficiency.
• Generate reports, dashboards, and visualizations to present findings.
• Interpret complex data sets and provide actionable insights.
• Ensure quality control of data through QA/QC procedures.

This role requires you to have:

• Minimum 3 years experience in data management and analytics.
• Ability to work with relational and non-relational database systems.
• Experience with tools like R, Python, ArcGIS, PowerBI, Tableau.
• Knowledge of SQL scripting and database optimization.
• Strong analytical and data visualization capabilities.
• Project management skills using tools like Microsoft Project.

You would benefit from having:

• Experience with DAMA-DMBOK, GISP, PMO, CDMP certifications.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric, Power Apps, Power Automate, Azure Data Factory and Synapse Analytics.
