Data Engineer - Offshore

Excellence Logging Canada Ltd., a company committed to exceptional data management services in the oil and gas industry, is hiring a Data Engineer. This offshore role is critical for ensuring precise measurement and recording of geological data, contributing to the safety and efficiency of field operations. The successful candidate will work closely with drilling services and client teams to monitor and report well activities.

In this role you can expect to have the responsibilities:

• Adhere to health, safety, and environmental regulations consistently.
• Validate comprehensive mud logs produced by the Mud Logging Geologist.
• Evaluate reservoir quality using gas interpretation methods.
• Cross-check various data sources to ensure accuracy and perform gas sampling.
• Monitor and report on drilling operations, identifying and responding to potential hazards.
• Maintain well database integrity and ensure confidentiality where required.
• Design and submit accurate logs and daily reports.
• Manage inventory and equipment status reports, ensuring readiness for audits.
• Organize and dispatch reports, data, and logs according to procedures.
• Perform regular calibration, maintenance, and repairs on gas instruments and data systems.

This role requires you to have:

• Knowledge in geology, environmental, or earth sciences
• Experience in Mudlogging/Data Engineering

This role is offshore-based, featuring a rotation of three weeks on and three weeks off. Preference is given to local Newfoundland and Labrador residents, and relocation may be required. The expected start date is April 15, 2025.
