Fraser Health Authority is offering a full-time position for a Data Analyst to join their team at Central City Tower in Surrey, B.C. This role is critical in supporting the Population Health Observatory, which aids various Fraser Health program areas in data management and health surveillance. The analyst will engage in data collection, synthesis, and knowledge dissemination across the health authority.
In this role you can expect to have the responsibilities:
- Create, synthesize, and provide population health data for planning and decision-making.
- Perform qualitative and quantitative analyses using software such as R and SAS.
- Utilize GIS software for creating and maintaining geographic mappings and geospatial analyses.
- Conduct data collection and analysis, preparing reports on communicable diseases and other health outcomes.
- Offer technical advice to health teams for consistent and valid data management.
- Identify, resolve, and improve data quality issues, ensuring best practices in data management.
- Extract, clean, and manage data, developing and maintaining databases.
- Gather population health data from various local and provincial sources.
- Collaborate with program areas to create tools for monitoring and evaluation.
- Provide information through data extraction and summarization for internal and external partners.
- Maintain interdisciplinary working relationships for cooperative goal achievement.
- Develop and maintain documentation for data procedures and security policies.
- Assist in system development and recommend strategies for efficient analytics.

This role requires you to have:
- Master's degree in a relevant discipline such as Epidemiology, Public Health, or Biostatistics.
- Understanding of epidemiology and public health surveillance systems.
- Knowledge of health data sources and data quality.
- Analytical and statistical skills for data analysis and report preparation.
- Ability to work in multidisciplinary teams and foster collaborative relationships.
- Proficiency with GIS, R, SAS, SQL, Tableau, and Power BI.
