Scotiabank, a leading bank in the Americas, is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join their Global Treasury Technology (GTT) team. This role focuses on developing and boosting the capabilities of existing and upcoming Google Cloud Platforms. In this role you can expect to have the responsibilities:
- Collaborate with end users and business teams to assess business needs.
- Partner with Architecture on design and integration processes.
- Deliver and enhance new and existing applications and solutions.
- Engage in full project lifecycle, ensuring quality specification and code production.
- Design, deliver, and implement database schema.
- Automate testing processes and support solutions in production.
- Enhance user experience by developing scalable solutions and addressing queries.
- Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Work with and refactor legacy code as needed.
- Coach and train end users where necessary.

This role requires you to have:
- Proficiency in Python and experience with two or more modern development languages.
- Experience in GCP cloud-based data engineering.
- Strong skills in relational and non-relational databases.
- Ability to read, write, and execute complex SQL scripts.
- Experience working in an Agile environment.
