Operating within Boehringer Ingelheim’s expanding Global Computational Biology and Digital Sciences Unit (gCBDS), this role is pivotal for transforming data into actionable insights and innovative prototypes. The Senior Data Scientist will contribute significantly to the discovery of breakthrough therapies, aiming to enhance human health through advanced data science methods.

In this role you can expect to have the responsibilities:

• Collaborate with scientists and domain experts to tackle challenges in therapy discovery and analytics engine design.
• Develop prototypes using Machine Learning and Deep Learning algorithms to enhance Boehringer's R&D portfolio.
• Work with developers, data engineers, and UI/UX designers to implement scalable scientific solutions.
• Stay updated on Machine Learning/AI trends and explore their application in pharmaceutical R&D.
• Engage in networking and collaboration to drive forward data science at Boehringer Ingelheim.

This role requires you to have:

• PhD in natural sciences or a master's with extensive experience
• Domain knowledge in biology or life sciences
• Experience with handling large data sets and scalable data engineering
• Proficiency in Data Science and Machine Learning with Python

You would benefit from having:

• Experience with LLMs/RAG/recommendation engines
• Knowledge of software engineering practices

The job is eligible for part-time work at 80%. The role is part of Boehringer's initiative to drive innovation in drug discovery and development. Interviews for this role are scheduled in March and April.
