Genomics Data Analyst (w/m/d) – Genomics Core Facility

The Bavarian State Collections of Natural History houses one of the largest natural history collections globally, focusing on research and geo- and biosphere change. Within this context, the Genomics Core Facility offers pivotal support, coordinating scientific genomic research and technological advancements.

In this role you can expect to have the responsibilities:

• Design and implement analysis pipelines for genomic and transcriptomic datasets.
• Conduct quality control and phylogenomic analyses.
• Assemble and annotate reference genomes for non-model organisms.
• Develop tools and workflows for sequence data analysis using container technologies.
• Prepare biological analyses and assist in writing publications.
• Document work electronically and contribute to method development.

This role requires you to have:

• University degree and doctorate in life sciences with a focus on bioinformatics or systematics.
• Experience with next generation sequencing and genomic data analysis.
• Proficient in Linux/Unix and scripting languages such as R and Python.
• Problem-solving aptitude and workflow optimization skills.
• Strong teamwork, organizational, and multitasking abilities.
