The University Hospital of Tübingen, a leader in German university medicine, employs approximately 11,000 regional staff and is renowned for its certified patient care. The organization seeks a dedicated individual for the Lab of Translational Microbiome Research at the M3 Research Center. This role, led by Dr. C. Stein-Thöringer, is part of the CMFI and focuses on revolutionary projects exploring microbiome and host interactions in cancer and infection contexts.

In this role you can expect to have the responsibilities:

• Conduct complex analyses integrating microbiome data, metabolomics, immune phenotypes, and clinical records
• Contribute to projects examining the interactions between the host immune system, microbiome, and pathogens
• Utilize a state-of-the-art multi-omics approach to cancer research at the M3 Institute

This role requires you to have:

• Master's or Ph.D. in Biostatistics, Data Science, Machine Learning, Bioinformatics or a related field
• Experience with compositional microbiome data and sequencing analysis
• Proficiency in exploratory data analysis and machine learning algorithms
• Expertise in Python and R with Linux-based environment experience
• Strong problem-solving abilities and collaboration skills

You would benefit from having:

• Familiarity with explainable AI tools like LIME or SHAP
• Experience with multi-omics data integration
