Principal Data Scientist - Omics Data (1 year maternity cover)

Novo Nordisk offers an opportunity for seasoned data scientists to contribute to the Translational Data Science Unit in Måløv, Denmark. The role is critical in advancing research on patient endotypes within the Cardiovascular & Renal Disease Research Therapy Area. This position involves collaboration with global teams and a network of internal and external stakeholders.

In this role you can expect to have the responsibilities:

• Analyse and visualise multi-omics data from large human cohorts and trials.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate omics insights into project entry and progression.
• Develop computational methods, including machine learning, to explore disease mechanisms and progression.
• Integrate and interpret omics datasets to generate testable biological hypotheses.
• Communicate findings through visualisations, reports, and presentations.
• Maintain documentation, version control, and improvement of research tools and workflows.

This role requires you to have:

• Ph.D. or Master’s in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Biostatistics, Systems Biology, Genetics, Computer Science, or Translational Research.
• 5+ years post-graduation experience with expertise in proteomics, metabolomics, and transcriptomics.
• Proficiency in multi-omics data analysis, HPC or cloud computing, and bioinformatics tools.
• Experience with machine learning, longitudinal modeling, network biology, Bayesian reasoning, or semi-structured data.
• Fluency in Python and/or R.
