Data Scientist for EU Healt Project - fully funded PhD position

Sygehus Lillebælt, Vejle Hospital, along with the Department of Regional Health Research at the University of Southern Denmark, is offering a fully funded PhD position. This role is part of an innovative EU health initiative aimed at utilizing large-scale health data to prevent chronic diseases, including cancer. The successful candidate will join a vibrant research community within the Oncology Department, working closely with a diverse team to develop prediction models that enhance public health outcomes.

In this role you can expect to have the responsibilities:

• Conduct advanced research in chronic disease prevention using data analysis.
• Develop, train, and validate machine learning algorithms and statistical models.
• Analyze large datasets from national health registries in collaboration with clinicians.
• Disseminate research findings through publications and conferences.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team locally and across the EU.
• Ensure research compliance with ethical guidelines and data protection laws.

This role requires you to have:
