Bloomberg News, a leader in financial data and analytics, is looking for a Senior Data Management Professional to enhance their Physical Assets Data Team. This role involves maintaining databases related to renewable and conventional power plants globally, and contributing to innovative data models for broader use in analysis. The team also manages databases supporting the DINE terminal function, enabling users to explore restaurants worldwide. The goal is to advance data workflows and ensure data relevance for various stakeholders.
In this role you can expect to have the responsibilities:
- Construct database schemas and configure ETL software for new data onboarding.
- Analyze internal processes for optimization opportunities and develop innovative solutions.
- Create and maintain quality data workflows for third-party data verification.
- Align workflow configurations for critical tasks such as acquisition and quality control.
- Develop best practices for data governance.
- Collaborate with Engineering and Product teams to implement leading solutions.
- Assist in the technical implementation of a new Physical Assets Data Model.
- Understand customer requirements and market needs to ensure data sets are fit-for-purpose.
- Stay informed on industry and dataset developments.
- Make informed decisions in a dynamic environment and report on operational results.
This role requires you to have:
- 4+ years of programming and scripting experience in production environments (Python, JavaScript).
- Experience with SQL or NoSQL databases and understanding of distributed systems.
- Strong passion for data and energy transition.
- Ability in semantic data modeling.
- Creative thinking with adaptability and collaborative skills.
- Familiarity with data processing paradigms.
- Exceptional problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills, especially for technical explanations.
You would benefit from having:
- Collaboration with Engineering for code production.
- Knowledge of Machine Learning frameworks.
- Experience in technical training and mentoring.
- Experience with Bloomberg tech stack: BBDS, BCOS, DFR, BRE, DTPs.
- Experience with QlikSense for visualizations and scripting.
