The Culham Centre for Fusion Energy invites motivated and enthusiastic undergraduate students from UK universities to join their summer placement scheme. This role offers a chance to engage in cutting-edge research within the fusion energy sector, focusing on tritium-induced nuclear reactions. Students will be part of a supportive community, gaining hands-on experience that could lead to future opportunities post-graduation.

In this role you can expect to have the responsibilities:

• Modeling tritium-induced nuclear reactions.
• Investigating tritium-nucleus scattering potentials and optimizing parameterization for breeder blanket targets.
• Using nuclear reaction codes to calculate cross sections and comparing them with experimental data.
• Performing calculations on tritium loss rates via secondary nuclear reactions.
