In this role you can expect to have the responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define project goals and deliverables.
  • Support users in utilizing data tools and resolve any issues promptly.

  • Organize team-building and professional development initiatives.
  • Mentor and manage junior team members' development.
  • Stay updated on the latest trends and improvements in data engineering.

This role requires you to have:

  • Proficiency in SQL and Python.
  • Experience in developing and maintaining enterprise data solutions.
  • Quality assurance and testing experience, e.g., using pytest.
  • Command line and Git proficiency.
  • Experience with automation, CI/CD workflows using GitHub actions.
  • Experience in agile methodologies.
  • Line management or mentoring experience.

You would benefit from having:

  • Experience with AWS and Terraform.
  • Familiarity with Docker and container workflows.

This role requires SC clearance and residency in the UK for at least 3 of the last 5 years. The Civil Service embraces diversity and offers support for candidates with disabilities and prison leavers. Travel costs to primary office locations are not covered.
