This pivotal Senior Data Engineer role requires a professional with expertise in IBM Datastage and DB2, AWS, and Databricks to lead efforts in modernizing their data infrastructure. The successful candidate will support Domestic & General's transition from legacy systems to scalable cloud solutions across the UK, EU, and US.
In this role you can expect to have the responsibilities:
- Manage the on-premises customer platform break/fix service.
- Develop automated and secure data pipelines for business users and applications.
- Collaborate with DevOps developers and testers to support AWS & Databricks infrastructure.
- Ensure development artefacts are versioned and stored appropriately.
- Create and maintain documentation for all ETL processes and codes.
- Work with product owners and business stakeholders to understand data requirements.
- Align deliveries with best practice strategies in collaboration with lead architects.
- Participate in agile planning and ensure work aligns with product priorities.
- Design low-level solutions for data infrastructure projects ensuring scalability and security.
- Identify critical success capabilities and make technology and delivery approach decisions.
- Stay updated with emerging technologies for data pipeline enhancement.
- Embrace challenges as opportunities for learning and improvement.
