Ecosurety, a leading company with a commitment to environmental and social sustainability, is looking for a Data Engineer to join their Technology Team. The team supports external customers and internal stakeholders with data solutions and includes roles such as Product, BI & Data Specialists, and Cloud Architects. The position is pivotal in advancing Ecosurety's mission of aiding UK brands in overcoming packaging challenges.

In this role you can expect to have the responsibilities:

  • Design and implement database solutions and data models for business data storage and BI presentation.
  • Develop and maintain scalable data pipelines for data ingestion from various sources.
  • Write complex SQL queries for analytics, reporting, and business intelligence.
  • Monitor and optimize data pipeline and job performance.
  • Ensure systems meet business requirements and industry standards.
  • Optimize data delivery through indexing and query optimization.
  • Integrate new data management technologies and software tools.
  • Use Git or Azure DevOps for version control and collaborate with team members.
  • Work on bespoke projects with the Senior Data Engineer and Technology Team.
  • Collaborate with third-party suppliers for database operations.
  • Create and maintain documentation for data engineering processes.

This role requires you to have:

  • 3+ years data engineering experience
  • Advanced SQL skills, relational databases expertise
  • Experience with ETL data pipelines and tools such as Azure Data Factory or Matillion
  • Proficiency with source control using Git
  • Familiarity with CI/CD best practices using Azure DevOps
  • Experience with Python for data processing and integration tasks

You would benefit from having:

  • Snowflake experience including data modelling and cloud solutions
  • Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure
  • Understanding of data within a regulatory environment
