The Data Engineer will join the Belfast-based Product Engineering team, working under the Development Manager to deliver key features and support data-driven solutions for customers. In this role you can expect to have the responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the application team to implement key product roadmap features.
- Design and maintain scalable data models with Snowflake.
- Manage Snowflake environments, ensuring optimal performance and system health.
- Optimize Snowflake virtual warehouses for efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Oversee user access and permissions within Snowflake.
- Promote self-service and decentralized data management among teams.
- Enforce data governance policies for quality and compliance.
- Work with internal subject matter experts on project alignment.
- Provide technical support and training to team members.

This role requires you to have:
- 3+ years of relevant experience in data platforms and governance.
- Proficiency in SQL.
- Experience with diverse database technologies (e.g., MSSQL, PostgresSQL, OLAP, OLTP).
- Familiarity with ETL/ELT tools and techniques.
- Experience in monitoring database health and concurrency.
- Knowledge of system design in cloud environments (SaaS, PaaS, IaaS).
You would benefit from having:
- Experience with Snowflake and Azure.
- Familiarity with master data management (MDM).
- Python proficiency for data transformation and automation.
- Knowledge of data mesh concepts.
