Historic England is dedicated to protecting England’s historic environment and promoting understanding and appreciation of heritage sites. The Marine Data Analyst role supports this mission by processing marine development data as part of the MDE Heritage Accelerator, a project funded by the Crown Estate’s Offshore Wind Evidence & Change program. Located in Swindon or London with hybrid working options, this position involves joining a team focused on enhancing the accessibility and effectiveness of marine heritage information.
In this role you can expect to have the responsibilities:
- Transform heritage data into consistent spatial information.
- Process and analyze geospatial data from seabed surveys.
- Contribute to the MDE Heritage Accelerator project objectives.
- Record and enhance marine data in the Marine Data Exchange and National Marine Heritage Record.

This role requires you to have:
- Experience with marine or heritage data and large datasets.
- Advanced database, spreadsheet, and GIS abilities.
- Knowledge of UK seabed survey systems and data processing.
- Understanding of UK frameworks and standards for marine data.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
