The Greater London Authority plays a pivotal role in providing evidence-based tools and analysis for London's strategic development. The Data Scientist will join the City Data Team, dedicated to refining demographic projections that support decisions impacting housing, transportation, and other essential services. Collaboration with the City Intelligence unit ensures robust data-driven policies for the Mayor and the London Assembly.
In this role you can expect to have the responsibilities:
- Maintain and improve demographic models for precise urban planning.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to address analytic requirements.
- Produce detailed projections and analytical outputs.
- Ensure high-quality standards in data products and accompany them with relevant guidance.
- Engage and support stakeholders in applying data science and modeling skills.

This role requires you to have:
- High numeracy and technical knowledge with a degree or extensive experience.
- Professional experience with R and/or Python and version control systems.

- Experience in project-based work and documenting technical findings.
- Capability to communicate complex ideas to varied audiences.
