In this role you can expect to have the responsibilities:

• Lead and implement data solutions as a subject matter expert within Hippo.
• Assist in designing data system architectures like Meshes, Warehouses, and Event-based systems.
• Create data flows connecting operational systems with analytics and BI systems.
• Optimize and re-engineer code for optimal performance.
• Foster strong relationships with team members and stakeholders.
• Contribute to the recruitment and development of new engineers.
• Promote Hippo’s engineering practices through blogs, seminars, and workshops.

This role requires you to have:

• Experience with Snowflake, Python, dbt, AWS, and Terraform.
• Familiarity with cloud architectures, networking, and distributed systems.
• Knowledge of data system designs such as Data Lakes and Warehouses.
• Handling a range of data sources including SQL, NoSQL, and Graph databases.
• Infrastructure delivery on various data platforms.

You would benefit from having:

• Proficiency in R, Bash, Java/.NET, and/or PowerShell.
• Experience in multidisciplinary teams.
• Understanding of security best practices and large dataset processing.
• Skills in log processing and dashboard delivery.
