Hitachi Rail, a leader in global digital transformation, is searching for a new Data Science Engineer. This role is part of the Perpetuum Onboard Analytics team, focused on enhancing data analysis and algorithms for condition monitoring. In this role you can expect to have the responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Data Science Engineering Lead to enhance the analytics function.
- Conduct data analysis on sensor data to deliver valuable insights to customers.
- Develop and refine algorithms for new and existing clients.
- Document study results in detailed reports for varying audiences.
- Create and maintain software and analytical tools with version control and automated testing.
- Generate visual content for commercial demonstrations.
- Promote and maintain team-developed resources, tools, and libraries.
- Collaborate with the Analytics team for knowledge development.
- Investigate and report on HI alerts, collaborating with the Sustaining team.
- Manage equipment and cloud infrastructure in line with cybersecurity policies.

This role requires you to have:
- BSc or Masters in a STEM subject
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or Matlab
- Strong analytical skills for complex datasets
- Experience in technical project delivery
- Understanding of data science and machine learning concepts
