Home Office's Digital Data and Technology profession is pivotal in maintaining UK safety by providing services for visa, passport applications, and counter-terrorism. The selected Senior Data Engineer will lead data flow integrations within the Data Services Science community, essential for improving operational systems and business outcomes.

In this role you can expect to have the responsibilities:

  • Design and implement complex data flows connecting operational and analytical systems.
  • Analyze issues and experiment to develop innovative problem-solving strategies.
  • Support data engineers and stakeholders in overcoming data analysis challenges.
  • Design and develop data streaming services and ETL processes.
  • Ensure delivery of data loads for customers, Data Analysts, and Data Scientists.
  • Build and test complex data products and solutions.
  • Apply data modelling concepts to produce diverse data models.

This role requires you to have:

  • Project delivery in data analysis and reporting.
  • Programming and automation using Power BI, Azure services.
  • Proficiency in ETL tools, network databases, and orchestration tools like MSSQL.
  • Proficient in Python and PowerShell for data engineering solutions.
  • Experience with Cloud Data technologies, particularly Azure and M365.
  • Skillful in managing stakeholder communications and performance analysis.
  • Understanding of API Design Principles with REST and GraphQL.
