The Openwork Partnership is seeking a Junior Data Engineer to join their Data Engineering Team, responsible for the Azure Synapse service. This role focuses on designing and developing data pipelines for Azure Synapse Data Lake and Azure SQL Data Warehouse. The position supports legacy data processes and migrations, contributing to data transformations for business insights.

In this role you can expect to have the responsibilities:

• Support the design and maintenance of Azure SQL / Synapse metadata framework.
• Develop Azure Synapse pipelines for loading data to the Data Lake and report layers.
• Perform data transformations as specified in mapping documents.
• Assist in the development of pipelines for audit capture and error handling.
• Automate Synapse pipelines and report jobs using scheduling tools.
• Ensure adherence to best practices in data handling and management.
• Create and maintain technical specifications.
• Support the data office and other data consumers.
• Migrate data and processes from legacy systems to Azure Synapse.
• Identify process improvements and assist in data modelling migrations.
