UK Power Networks is seeking a skilled Azure Data Engineer to join their Strategy Regulation and Support Services division. This role supports the company’s strategic move towards a robust Azure Platform to maximize value extraction from data assets. As part of the team, you will assist in implementing data solutions that align with the company's growth ambitions.
In this role you can expect to have the responsibilities:
- Lead development efforts on the Azure data platform, ensuring scalable, reusable solutions.
- Collaborate with teams across the business to transform data from various sources for analysis.
- Implement data models and maintain data quality within the Azure platform.
- Develop data platforms using big data solutions to provide business insights.
- Lead the configuration and deployment of infrastructure for Azure-based data solutions.
- Oversee data security, ensuring appropriate access controls.
- Mentor team members and promote best practices in data engineering.

This role requires you to have:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field.
- Experience with Azure data platforms such as Azure Data Factory, Databricks, and Azure SQL.
- Knowledge in data modelling and transformation routines.
- Proficiency in deploying production-level solutions at an enterprise scale.
- Understanding of open data concepts and API management.
You would benefit from having:
- Experience within the Utilities and Electricity Distribution industries.
- Proficiency with real-time streaming data feeds.
- Use of CI/CD methodologies.
- Familiarity with agile methodologies.
