UK Power Networks is seeking an Open Data Engineer to drive their data sharing capabilities. This permanent role focuses on creating sustainable open data pipelines and influencing senior stakeholders. The position operates within the Strategy Regulation and Support Services, with significant interactions across teams to exceed industry standards and enhance the company's data leadership position.

In this role you can expect to have the responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the publication of open data, collaborating with a range of external partners and internal leaders.
  • Develop and maintain scalable open data pipelines using coding skills in Python and SQL.
  • Coordinate with various data teams at UK Power Networks to create industry-leading data services and solutions.
  • Oversee the continuous enhancement of the Open Data Portal and ensure data model integrity.
  • Ensure secure data access and manage API services for improved information dissemination.
  • Promote the Open Data Portal as a central hub for data requests and responses.

This role requires you to have:

  • Experience with data sharing and energy sector knowledge.
  • Proficiency in Python and SQL coding.
  • Ability to design and manage data models and ETL pipelines.
  • Experience with Azure Databricks and creating pipelines.
