Team Tumbleweed is undertaking ambitious advancements in space exploration technology. They are at a pivotal phase as they prepare for an upcoming Mars Mission. The Lead Command and Data Handling Engineer role is crucial in designing and optimizing systems that ensure efficient communication and control for mission success.
In this role you can expect to have the responsibilities:
- Oversee the development of trajectory plans for the Tumbleweed Rover EDL phase.
- Regularly update project leads on mission plan developments.
- Develop the Command and Data Handling system architecture tailored to mission needs.
- Collaborate with GSE engineers to implement robust communication protocols.
- Implement fault-tolerant strategies within the CDH systems.
- Establish comprehensive testing protocols for CDH systems.

This role requires you to have:
- Strong communication and intercultural skills
- Excellent English proficiency
- Experience in C&D systems for space missions
- Understanding of onboard computing and communication protocols
- Enrolled in a relevant engineering degree
You would benefit from having:

- Ability to lead a small engineering team
The role requires a commitment of at least 1.5 years and approximately 15 hours of work per week.
