IDEXX is leading an effort to build a pioneering SaaS platform for animal health, focusing on impactful software solutions. The company's Auckland-based global software center of excellence develops diverse cloud platforms and applications. The role involves joining the new Data Services squad as a Senior Data Engineer to lead in streaming data across the IDEXX Veterinary Software portfolio.

In this role you can expect to have the responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain the system's technical architecture.
• Collaborate with teams to define and enforce data standards.
• Create blueprints for data flow and manage complex data models.
• Monitor and refine systems for data accuracy and performance.
• Lead technical planning, including architecture and system design.
• Ensure interoperability of data across company products.
• Promote data integrity and strategic value organization-wide.

This role requires you to have:

• 7+ years of experience as a Software Engineer.
• Expertise in real-time data processing, especially with Kafka.
• Strong data architecture skills for scalable data models.
• Experience with frameworks like Hadoop, Spark, and Kafka.
• Proficiency in cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Familiarity with GDPR, HIPAA, and data security practices.
