Northpower, a leading provider of electricity and fibre networks in New Zealand, is hiring a Reporting and Data Insights Analyst for a fixed-term maternity cover. This critical role will see the successful candidate become a data storyteller, creating impactful insights and dashboards that elevate business decision-making. Working with regional teams, the position aims to enhance data use for improved operations.
In this role you can expect to have the responsibilities:
- Deliver historical, real-time, and predictive insights for business services.
- Keep all reports and dashboards updated and relevant.
- Analyze diverse datasets to uncover valuable insights while managing their limitations.
- Adhere to best practices in data management, ensuring privacy and compliance.
- Use ethical data handling techniques and assess risks.
- Help maintain documentation on data standards and dashboard guidelines.

This role requires you to have:
- 3+ years of experience in data insights.
- Advanced skills in Power BI, DAX, and data visualization.
- Strong experience in data modeling, including Power Query and Star Schema.
- Proficiency in SQL and cloud services such as Azure or AWS.
- A relevant degree in IT, Economics, Statistics, Engineering, or a related field.
- Ability to explain complex concepts clearly.
You would benefit from having:
