This position supports a Department of State client, offering opportunities to develop analytical products and manage data systems. The role is embedded within a dynamic team focused on advanced analytics for conflict and instability monitoring.

In this role you can expect to have the responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with teams to develop analytical products and interactive dashboards.
  • Administer systems and curate content for the Instability Monitoring and Analysis Platform (IMAP).
  • Ensure conflict analysis products reflect current theories and are continuously updated.
  • Manage data streams for Advanced Analytics teams, maintaining updated repositories.
  • Develop and implement new social media analytics tools for early warning and conflict prediction.
  • Coordinate events and deliver interactive IMAP trainings as part of the outreach plan.
  • Interface with think tanks, academia, and interagency partners in the early warning community.
  • Contribute to quality control and methodological reviews of analytical products.

This role requires you to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in fields like International Affairs, Public Administration, or similar.
  • Two years’ experience with data visualization tools, such as Tableau and ArcGIS.
  • Proficiency in data management and familiarity with SQL and programming languages like Python and JavaScript.
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel.
  • Proven ability to communicate insights to nontechnical audiences.

You would benefit from having:

  • Experience in conflict analysis, international relations, or foreign policy.
  • Familiarity with social media analytics applications.

An Active Secret Clearance is required for this role.
