Amazon Lab126 is searching for a Data Engineer II to support their Accounting BI team in delivering automated reporting solutions and enhancing the processing and analysis of financial data. This position requires close collaboration with technical roles across various Amazon businesses, contributing to efficient data and reporting structures.

In this role you can expect to have the responsibilities:

• Collaborate with stakeholders and engineering teams to determine the best data architecture and technologies for analysis.
• Enhance data infrastructure and access to customer insights through BI tools.
• Design and implement ETL processes using AWS technologies.
• Develop anomaly detection systems for proactive data quality management.
• Utilize EMR and big data technologies for large-scale analytics.
• Implement technology best practices organization-wide.
• Conduct proof of concepts for new technology adoption.

This role requires you to have:

• 3+ years of data engineering experience.
• Proficiency in data modeling, warehousing, and ETL pipeline development.
• Strong SQL skills.
• Proficiency in at least one modern scripting or programming language such as Python, Java, Scala, or NodeJS.
• Experience with big data technologies like Hadoop, Hive, Spark, EMR.

You would benefit from having:

• Experience with AWS technologies such as Redshift, S3, AWS Glue, and EMR.
• Understanding of non-relational databases and data stores.
