BlackLine is looking for a skilled Staff Data Engineer to join their Data & BI Engineering team. This opportunity allows the candidate to contribute to building their Enterprise Data Platform, essential for data-informed strategic decisions. The ideal candidate will work in a fast-paced environment, harnessing business knowledge, and leading data engineering best practices.

In this role you can expect to have the responsibilities:

• Design and build infrastructure for optimal ETL processes.
• Identify and implement process improvements and data delivery optimizations.
• Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders.
• Translate complex technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
• Maintain documentation and operational knowledge base.
• Train junior staff on best practices.
• Design and enforce data security and governance protocols.

This role requires you to have:

• Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science or related field
• 10+ years with RDBMS, SQL, Python, Java, or other languages
• 5+ years working with SQL and Snowflake
• Deep knowledge of data warehouse concepts and ETL best practices
• Proficiency in stream-processing systems like Storm, Spark-Streaming
