Bowhead Corporation is actively recruiting a Data Scientist with expertise in analyzing data trends to bolster their team at the Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division. The role focuses on uncovering meaningful patterns and insights from complex data sets to drive decision-making. Working within the E Department, team members aim to enhance value delivery through software development and data analytics.

In this role you can expect to have the responsibilities:

• Apply mathematical, statistical, and machine learning techniques to uncover significant patterns in data.
• Plan, design, and document new software components for stakeholder value delivery.
• Create tools for data testing and analyze varied data forms including text, sound, and images.
• Develop predictive models for real-time decision-making.
• Present data insights creatively for both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Identify and exploit internal and external data sets from diverse processes.
• Manage data structures and analyze information forms such as taxonomies and metadata.

This role requires you to have:

• Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience in data science
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience
• Analytical skills for database management and development
• Knowledge of relational database management systems
• Proficiency in SQL
• Effective communication skills in customer support and requirement validation
• Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills
