Charles Schwab Mechanical Works is seeking an Operational Due Diligence Analyst to join their dedicated team at the Schwab Center for Financial Research. In this role, you will conduct rigorous operational due diligence research on third-party asset managers in various product categories. By leveraging your communication skills, you will collaborate with executive level industry partners and internal stakeholders to identify and manage operational risks associated with third-party asset management.

In this role you can expect to have the responsibilities:

  • Use qualitative research to evaluate and assess operational risks of 3rd party investment managers in areas such as organizational governance, compliance, risk management, trading, and asset management
  • Manage multiple projects with competing timelines while demonstrating strong planning skills
  • Report and raise awareness of findings within the Operational Due Diligence team and senior level committee structures
  • Review and analyze extensive documentation provided by third-party asset management firms
  • Coordinate and facilitate executive level meetings with third-party asset management firms
  • Document and track findings and mitigation efforts
  • Utilize a high degree of autonomy to align analysis with program objectives
  • Lead quarterly or ad hoc assignments related to third-party oversight
  • Monitor regulatory, industry, and company news and filings on a daily basis
  • Identify opportunities to improve and enhance operational due diligence processes and procedures
  • Build strong relationships across the Schwab organization
  • Ensure investment manager due diligence documentation is complete and up to date

This role requires you to have:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5+ years of research, risk management, or related experience
  • 5+ years of industry experience
  • Ability to travel approximately 30% of the time
