The role focuses on the design and implementation of strategic data systems, helping build enterprise data pipelines to boost analytic solutions. This position plays a key role in enhancing data products for the team's analytics and data scientist members, driving Chewy towards excellence in ecommerce.

In this role you can expect to have the responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain comprehensive data pipelines
• Resolve complex data issues to provide necessary insights
• Develop data products to enhance team efficiency
• Craft Proof of Concepts and offer consulting on data standards
• Lead the deployment of new data engineering tools and processes
• Develop plans for education on data engineering capabilities
• Create and test new data systems for robust applications
• Contribute to team initiatives and encourage teamwork
• Document data sources with data cataloging
• Collaborate with partners and analytics teams to meet data needs
• Foster trust to support data-driven decision-making
• Collaborate with engineering to integrate new data sources

This role requires you to have:

• Bachelor or Master's in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
• 5+ years in Data Engineering or Business Intelligence
• Skilled in ETL, Data Modeling, and Data Architecture
• Experience with modern data engineering tools like Spark, Scala, and Databricks
• Proficiency in AWS, Java, Python, and SQL
• Experience with version-controlled code and data warehouse techniques
• Ability to present data insights effectively
