The Data Engineer will play a pivotal role in managing the district's data infrastructure, ensuring data quality and integration with partners.

In this role you can expect to have the responsibilities:

• Update and manage the job schedule in Appworx scheduler.
• Oversee code repository, technical documentation, and deployment processes.
• Maintain and extend the CPS Enterprise Data Warehouse.
• Develop and deploy data pipelines with quality checks.
• Transform and prepare data from various sources for analysis.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate data needs into solutions.
• Create dashboards and metrics using Microsoft Power BI.
• Ensure data accuracy in reporting metrics.
• Contribute to data governance policy development.

This role requires you to have:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Three years of Data Warehouse experience.
• Strong ANSI SQL knowledge.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Understanding of database objects and SQL queries.

You would benefit from having:

• Experience with programming languages like Python or R.
• Proficiency in job scheduling and DevOps tools.
• Knowledge of ETL tools and SQL Server.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Azure cloud technologies.

Employees must establish and maintain residency within Chicago within six months of hire, but temporary/part-time roles are exempt from this requirement. All CPS employees must reside in Illinois.
