Crime Data Analyst

The City of Bloomington, IL is seeking a Crime Data Analyst to enhance its police department's operations. This role is pivotal in identifying crime trends locally and nationally. The analyst will work closely with law enforcement personnel, providing strategic insights and maintaining critical reporting systems.

In this role you can expect to have the responsibilities:

• Analyze and evaluate police incident reports to identify crime trends.
• Prepare and disseminate detailed crime data reports to law enforcement staff.
• Conduct research and analysis on both local and national crime trends.
• Maintain state-mandated data systems for periodic reporting.
• Support strategic and tactical planning for crime prevention.
• Develop and manage data collection systems for traffic stops and pedestrian contacts.
• Coordinate with the Criminal Intelligence Analyst on assignments and projects.
• Provide training to new analysts and law enforcement personnel.

This role requires you to have:

• Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, social sciences, computer science, or related field.
• Two or more years of experience in criminal intelligence or computer operation.
