The Citywide Analytics Team is dedicated to leveraging data to improve city operations and the quality of life in Boston. The team collaborates with multiple city departments to implement data analysis and visualization, driving performance improvement and effective governance. Under the leadership of the Analytics Team, the Analyst will play a crucial role in promoting operational and technical enhancements across the city.

In this role you can expect to have the responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain reports, dashboards, and metrics for city departments.
  • Foster positive relationships with departments to analyze needs and evaluate opportunities.
  • Communicate project findings to executive leadership.
  • Collaborate with data engineers on data warehouse development.
  • Assemble and format data using various software applications.

    This role requires you to have:

    • Professional experience in data analysis, reporting, and visualization using Python, R, SQL, ArcGIS, or Tableau.
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks and react quickly to problems.
    • Competency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
    • Proven communication and organizational skills.

    You would benefit from having:

    • Experience in a government setting.
    • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant STEM field.
    • Familiarity with Google Apps.

    Boston residency is required. The position involves working 35 hours per week under the SENA/MM1-6 salary plan.
