Data Analyst- Public Service

The City of Charleston is looking for a dedicated Data Analyst in its Public Service department's Environmental Services division. This role aims to boost departmental efficiency by analyzing data that pinpoints patterns, trends, and changes influencing service outcomes. The Data Analyst will support efforts to streamline operations and improve service delivery.

In this role you can expect to have the responsibilities:

• Acquire, clean, and manage data for analysis via database design and queries.
• Troubleshoot and refine query issues and propose improvements in data collection.
• Identify and resolve data integrity problems.
• Craft and distribute reports, charts, and publications to convey findings.
• Conduct complex professional analyses including geographical mapping.
• Manage and disseminate information on route and repair trends for operational support.
• Coordinate with other city departments and external agencies for analysis activities.
• Respond to specific information analysis requests.

This role requires you to have:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, mathematics, statistics, or a related field with extensive statistical coursework.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Access and SQL.
