Data Analyst

The City of Lynchburg is searching for a Data Analyst with strong research and analytical skills to empower employees and engage citizens through accessible city data. This role is pivotal in evaluating and analyzing data concerning the City's Civil Rights Program and human resources. Reporting to the Special Assistant to the City Manager, this position involves tracking demographic data, supporting EEO compliance, and enhancing service delivery through analytics.

In this role you can expect to have the responsibilities:

• Develop comprehensive data analytics products using tools like PowerBI and ArcGIS.
• Build and interpret complex data models and analyses.
• Communicate analytical results to diverse audiences effectively.
• Foster increased usage and awareness of city data resources.
• Implement emerging technologies and promote their adoption.
• Initiate and collaborate on projects independently and in teams.
• Establish governance for internal and external data sharing.
• Train departmental analysts and data input personnel.
• Conduct research and comparative analyses to promote inclusivity.
• Develop metrics for accountability in service delivery.
