The Education Data Analyst role at the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education involves supporting K-12 data reporting for state and federal obligations. The position plays a key role in improving educational outcomes by utilizing data resources, providing technical assistance, and enhancing data communication for educators, policymakers, and stakeholders.

In this role you can expect to have the responsibilities:

  • Develop and utilize new and existing college, career, and technical education data resources.
  • Provide coaching and technical assistance to school/district leaders.
  • Support the production and communication of K-12 education statistics including student enrollment, demographics, and post-secondary readiness.
  • Collaborate with agency staff to communicate data needs.
  • Fulfill federal data reporting requirements.
  • Respond to data inquiries from various stakeholders.
  • Perform other assigned duties.

This role requires you to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree with four years of professional educational experience or a Master's degree with two years of experience.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to accurately collect, present, analyze, and interpret qualitative and quantitative data.
  • Experience with large datasets and creating qualitative and quantitative reports.
  • Proficiency in using SPSS, Snowflake, Oracle/SQL, or similar tools.
  • Experience with Power BI or similar visualization software.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects concurrently.
