The Data Engineer will play a crucial role in the ongoing re-architecture of Schwab's core data platform, leading its modernization and migration to Google Cloud. In this role you can expect to have the responsibilities:
- Lead technical and project initiatives for swift platform development.
- Support organizational priorities through Agile development.
- Mentor team members to ensure project success.
- Strive for strategic outcomes by leading team performance.
- Collaborate with development and product teams to design features.
- Oversee application support and deployment automation.
- Coordinate with stakeholders for timely software project delivery.
- Identify and mitigate technology risks and dependencies.
- Maintain production support and deployment process documentation.
- Facilitate process reviews with developers and support teams.
- Utilize software tools for deployment and maintenance activities.
- Support data integration and modernization efforts.

This role requires you to have:
- 10+ years in data engineering and automation
- 5+ years in financial services
- 5+ years in project leadership
- Expertise in cloud-based technologies (GCP or AWS preferred)
- Experience with Web, APIs, RPA, AI, and database engineering
- Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science or related field
You would benefit from having:
- Knowledge of Futures & Forex Trading data platforms
- Understanding of architecture and development standards
- Proficiency in SQL and/or PostGres
- Data pipeline understanding
- Python coding skills
- Experience with GitHub, Bamboo, JMeter, SonarQube
