The Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles is dedicated to maintaining public safety and support through its various services. The Data Base Analyst role is vital in managing and maintaining Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle Database systems, ensuring reliable data management and support within the department. The Office of Agriculture Technology Services is looking for a skilled professional to join a team focused on optimizing database performance and security.
In this role you can expect to have the responsibilities:
- Assist in the design and maintenance of database instances using Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle.
- Perform database query analysis, performance monitoring, and optimization.
- Develop and maintain stored procedures, functions, and triggers.
- Perform backup and disaster recovery procedures as needed.
- Coordinate with application development teams to ensure database model designs adhere to standards.
- Deploy changes to production databases following best practices.
- Run diagnostic tools to identify and correct database performance issues.
- Support 24/7 on-call database environments and perform capacity planning.

This role requires you to have:
- Experience with database administration and development.
- Knowledge of Microsoft or Oracle databases.
- Ability to write PL/SQL or T-SQL stored procedures.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication abilities in technical contexts.

- Knowledge of Windows or Unix scripting.
- Experience with database server and storage management.
- Operational support skills for system installations, migrations, and upgrades.
