The Data Analyst, supervised by the Data Analytics Supervisor, will handle data analytics operations to support communicable and non-communicable disease monitoring.

In this role you can expect to have the responsibilities:

  • Oversee the entire data analytics cycle, from requirement gathering to final reporting.
  • Use tools like Excel, SQL, R, PowerBI, and ArcGIS for data management, cleaning, analysis, and visualization.
  • Develop and implement recommendations to support strategic data-driven decisions.
  • Handle ad-hoc data requests and systematically report analytical findings.
  • Maintain strong relationships with stakeholders to ensure alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Present insights through reports, presentations, and dashboards.

This role requires you to have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health, Computer Science, Data Science, Information Management, Statistics, or related field.
  • At least two years of experience on data projects including data query, cleaning, management, analysis, and visualization.
  • Experience using R or Python, SQL, and PowerBI.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

This position is grant-funded with an anticipated end date of November 30, 2027. Harris County is an Equal Opportunity Employer. Work location is Harris County Public Health, Office of Epidemiology, Surveillance, and Emerging Diseases in Houston, Texas.
