Leidos is seeking a skilled Data Engineer to join their team supporting the United States Space Force's Cyber Operations Branch. This role involves developing and deploying defensive cyberspace capabilities for Space mission and weapon systems. The ideal candidate will possess a technical background, leadership qualities, and problem-solving skills to deliver outstanding results within an Agile team environment.
In this role you can expect to have the responsibilities:
- Assemble large, complex datasets to fulfill functional and non-functional needs.
- Design and implement process improvements for infrastructure scalability, data delivery optimization, and manual process automation.
- Develop infrastructure for efficient data extraction, transformation, and loading.
- Maintain and manage data supporting metrics and evaluation.
- Collaborate with developers to ensure data storage in a Postgres database.
- Partner with data providers and developers to standardize schemas and define data workflows.
- Design, build, and maintain automated data pipelines.
- Create Dashboards for Data Analytics.
- Implement AI/Machine Learning solutions.
- Employ Agile methodologies for software development.

This role requires you to have:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related area.
- Three years' experience as a Data Engineer/Scientist.
- Proficient in data pipeline development and data normalization.
- Experience with AWS cloud services and PostgreSQL database.
- Capable of efficient work within small, distributed teams.
- Understanding of Agile principles.
- US citizenship with an active DoD Secret Clearance.
You would benefit from having:
- Possession of Top Secret security clearance with SCI and SAP eligibility.
- Experience with Tableau Dashboard development.
- Familiarity with the ELK Stack and real-time event streaming.
- Knowledge of AWS S3, EC2, Lambda, Kinesis.
- Proficiency with Apache Spark and NiFi.
- Experience with Confluent Kafka and Containers like Docker.
- DevSecOps experience with test-driven development.
- Gitlab experience.
