Marlins Training Limited seeks a skilled Senior Data Engineer to join their Baseball Systems team. This role supports Baseball Operations by designing and implementing optimized processes for handling diverse baseball data sources. Reporting to the Director of Data Engineering, the candidate will drive strategic innovation within the organization.

In this role you can expect to have the responsibilities:

• Design, develop, document, and maintain scalable database infrastructure.
• Break down complex projects into actionable tasks with clear specifications.
• Implement secure data procedures for collection, mapping, and storage.
• Monitor and maintain infrastructure to automate data workflows.
• Develop algorithms for data quality assurance and imputation.
• Coordinate data feed changes with providers.
• Research and implement software architectures for data integration.
• Define and promote data engineering standards across the team.
• Communicate technical concepts effectively to varied audiences.
• Mentor junior engineers and assist with recruiting for the team.
• Rotate platform support duties as needed.

This role requires you to have:

• Back-end software design and development experience.
• Experience with ETL/ELT in cloud-based environments.
• Fluency in SQL and database technologies.
• Proficiency in Python, Scala, and/or other data-oriented languages.
• Automated data validation skill across large data sets.
• Expertise in complex databases and data warehouses for cloud analytics.

You would benefit from having:

• Experience with cloud computing platforms (GCP, AWS, Azure).
• Experience with orchestration tools like Airflow.
• Skill in managing containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes.
